Hallowe'en, Playgirl, Etc

OK, my dears, your sweet (but determined!) nudges about the Hallowe'en blends yielded results. Guy Fawkes, Haint, Holy Terror and Little Ghoulie are now available at Magical Omaha and Gorey Details. These seasonal LEs will not be available in soaps-- only 'fumes this time. I hope to keep them available through mid to late November.

In other news, you can see Burlesque, Devilish and Spitfire featured along with other cool products in the current issue of Playgirl. Our soaps are so damn foxy, they didn't even have to drop their wrappers for the photo.

Finally, if you receive a Arcana sample which does not have an official Arcana label and/or does not come from an authorized Arcana retailer, I can't vouch for its authenticity. I absolutely know that the vast majority of you who like to sell and swap these are extremely honest, ethical people. However, I certainly can't control what a few bad apples do. There are some things in the works which may come to pass eventually, but in the meantime, I have not authorized anyone for the widespread sale of our samples.

Edited to add: In regards to my October 3rd post, yes, we are OK here. Thank you all so much for your concern.

The retail site will stay down indefinitely, but our wholesale business is getting back up to speed, so we encourage you to seek out the fine shops & websites which carry our wares.

xo,
Julia

But what about sample-sized things? ;_; MO and GD don't sell those.

I am obviously very glad you are okay! But, you know. Samples! I have been dying to try so many things that I cannot afford to buy in bottles, unsniffed. *weeps*

Hi everyone!

I hear you about the layering notes. Hopefully I'll have some news on that front for you soon.

Soap samples are a thing of the past, I'm afraid. However, I'm looking into a way for you all to buy sample size perfumes from at least one retailer. The issue there is that I don't sell perfume samples wholesale. There's a fair amount of labor involved in making samples, and since they have a small enough profit margin at retail prices, I'd basically be paying for the privilege of wholesaling them. So I'm looking into selling larger bottles of my blends along with sheets of the official Arcana labels (heck, I can even make sample vials available, though I think most people know where to get those), so that retailers who wish to can make their own Arcana perfume oil samples for fun & profit.

I just bought Guy Fawkes from Magical Omaha, and got it the other day. It is heavenly! You've really done some wonderful things. I hope you keep making oils and wholesaling them out so that we can keep enjoying new Arcana oils!

Thanks everyone for your compliments. I'm so happy to know that you're enjoying these!

BTW, whether we are a wholesale-only company (for the time being) or wholesale as well as retail, I'm not going anywhere, so no worries on that front. We don't have other jobs and then do Arcana on the side. Arcana is the day job!

Kisses,
Julia

i'm glad that you have decided to put the some scents for halloween. I'm surprised that your products are not sold through retailers in Salem, ma (witch city) where it's halloween 365 days a year. would you ever think of having through salem to sell your products?

Hi Anonymous,

There is a deal that's been in the works related to this very subject. I'm happy to say we will be in a store in Salem in the near future.

Hi Juliana,

I'm sure Arcana will be available in Frederick eventually. You do know about Baltimore, right? We're in a store called Kiss n' Make-up, which is in the Hampden neighborhood. I need to update the list of retailers...

I'll miss buying direct from you, spoilt on your excellent customer service as I was, but I'm so happy you guys are here to stay. I won't put any non-Arcana soap on my skin! Not even a certain very popular "natural" retail brand that starts with an "L".

I'm only sad I didn't scoop up more Lavender Fields or some Lost for Words when I had the chance(alas, money issues came up at a bad moment, and now that I have money I'm peevish. Too bad I can't turn cash into soap/perfume merely by will, ha!). Luckily I have a bar of LF stashed away!

Keep up the good work, I'm buying as long as you're making(which is hopefully forever, my spoilt skin can't take anything else)!

Just wondering if there are going to be Yule blends... And hoping for a hint or two, if there are. ;)

Any new updates on the samples situation, like which etailers might be offering them? And as the commenter above asked, will there be Yule blends?

Finny:

Yes, there will be winter holiday blends, but not until the end of November.

Hints... hmm... well, there's one that is only available in soap. And another one is only available in 'fume. And then a couple others come in both. Ooh, and one of the soaps has some botanicals on top! How's that for hints?

I know. I'm such a tease. ;)

Lohengrin: Hopefully, samples will be available soon from Magical Omaha. It's my fault and not at all theirs that this is taking so long.

Jenny: thank you for the vote of confidence. You have not seen the last of the Lavender soap.

xox,
Julia

;) LOL!

Julia, you are a tease... But, of course, in keeping with the holiday, surprises are good!

Okay, I will be a good girl and wait. I will slather myself in Solstice Sugar and dream about the holiday blends to come.

Julia, your scrubs are the BEST I have ever used (and I have used a lot). I will die a horrible bumpy skinned death when these stop coming.

My friend and I went to a shop in Salem that is listed as selling your marvelous soaps, and only found 4 bars (2 each of Tammeny Hall and Dia de los Muertos). The store clerk said that they didn't have regular orders in, which made us really sad. Is there a way to get a more regular supply going in Salem? We love your soaps!!
